Early Wednesday, Carrie Underwood debuted her brand new song “Cry Pretty,” which is also her first new radio single since 2016.
“The title refers to when emotions take over and you just can’t hold them back. It really speaks to a lot of things that have happened in the past year and I hope when you hear it, you can relate those feelings to those times in your life,” Carrie explained in a letter she wrote to her fans Tuesday. “It’s emotional. It’s real. And it ROCKS!”
Carrie will be performing the single at the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards, which will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday night. This will be the singer’s first appearance since suffering a fall in November.
